Not so long ago, I purchased a book published by a young friend and wondered how he accomplished writing it while continuing to meet the needs of his profession and young family. Surely, if he could publish a book, I could, too! So I gathered my stacks of ‘light-hearted, timeless and encouraging’ family-life columns (published years ago in Idaho newspapers and magazines) and went to work tweaking them for today’s audience of moms and Grandmoms’ who, like me, are ‘living the dream’ of eternal significance. My book, Once Upon an Amateur Mom is the result, to be followed by Amateur Mom’s Happily Ever After and Amateur Mom to the End. Our daughter, Janette’s delightful childhood drawings of ‘Mom’ (in various stages of ‘Mom’s’ development) provide the cover art for each of the three books.
